The ICT+ nerve centre for processing and transmitting information 
via the Intranet network


   

Training in computer skills: research and processing of information relating to rural development and arts and crafts, health, education and natural resource management.

 

* Empowerment of women:

The nerve centre will be run by women who will be responsible for managing the access to the facilities and choosing the information that will stimulate:

-          communication

-          stronger participation

-          access to information relating to health problems

-          the formation of micro-enterprises via the activity centre "www-Act"

-          worldwide contacts and links

-          knowledge of computer technology

   

Learning how to:

- use computer technology

- assemble a computer

-research and put to use the information

-pass on the useful information to the other members of the network

-run the centres autonomously

Satellite connection : access to the Internet network via a high-speed connection (ADSL) or a link to the existing national network depending on local possibilities
Solar energy : solar panels provide the electrical energy necessary for running the facilities (together with/ or instead of wind energy)
  

Our role:

  • To form a team responsible for the monitoring and implementation of the project

  • To write up the specifications

  • To monitor the construction work and installation of the facilities

  • To oversee the training of the key participants

  • To follow up on administration and auditing

  • To ensure links with the participants of other pilot projects around the world

  • To fit out an appropriate location

  • To purchase the equipment (computers, satellite antennae, Intranet network antennae, solar panels) and carry out installation and maintenance throughout the project

  • To organise the training courses for the participants

  • To bring in various experts
